The only thing that distinguishes CVT fluid from ordinary oil is the amount of fiction it produces. Belts and metal chain belts are the two sorts of belts available. The input shaft of a belt-driven CVT is kept at a constant angular speed by default. The CVT may rapidly change gear ratios through a continuous range of effective gear ratio sizes. There are no gears in the CVT system to propel the car. Single-speed transmission, steeples transmission, or pulley transmission are examples of CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Despite a fleeting resurgence in the late 1950s (when Dutch truck maker DAF produced small 500 cc and 600 cc cars), it wasn’t until the early 2000s that CVTs began to appear on the market in larger quantities. At first, when production methods weren’t what they are today, the belt was the weak link. Though it’s easier to make than a traditional geared transmission, CVT has a belt drive. It was first used in a sawmill engine in the 1870s and subsequently appeared in automobiles. The continuously variable transmission isn’t a new invention.
